A Letter To The MOD Squad From Co-Founders Scott & Ally Svenson

Dear MOD Squad,

First, we would like to express our love and support for members of the MOD family who have been directly impacted by the recent events across our country. It is profoundly sad and painful to again witness the systemic social injustices that continue to divide our country. We are heartbroken and grieve the tragic and unnecessary deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and too many others. To all members of the MOD family – we want to reinforce that we are here for you and that we love you. When any member of our family hurts, we all hurt.

We are facing a significant moment in our country – real challenges that we cannot and will not turn away from. MOD has always stood for acceptance, tolerance, inclusion and opportunity for all. We are compelled and have the responsibility to condemn social injustice and racism, and any actions that promote division. MOD exists to serve people in order to contribute to a world that works for and includes everyone. Never has there been a more important time to live our values.

We do not pretend to fully understand the complexity of long-standing divisions in our society, or how they have impacted each of you. But MOD is committed to being a part of the solution. We know it’s no longer enough to condemn racism – we must commit to being anti-racist. We will start by listening – to all of you – to help us understand the work that needs to be done.

We look forward to turning the pain of this moment into fuel for MOD’s purpose and to continue to use our business as a force for positive social change. MOD has always been a place for hope – and we believe it is now more important than ever.

We love you all, and are incredibly grateful for each of you. Please continue to take care of yourself and each other.

Ally and Scott
